If at first you don’t succeed…

Caroline and Daniel crossed paths in 2012 when she arrived as a freshman (and he was a junior) at UNC. Instantly smitten, Daniel decided to make his affection known one night under the stars at Chapel Hill’s most enchanting venue: Pantana Bob’s.

Needless to say, things didn’t exactly go as planned.

Then, nearly two years later, Caroline finally agreed to go to a cocktail function with Daniel, where she was floored by his swing dancing skills (compliments of his dedicated trainer, Angela) and uncanny ability to make her laugh. It wasn’t until 2014 that the duo made their relationship “official” on the patio of another romantic watering hole: Blind Tiger Pub–ironically located a few doors down from Daniel’s workplace.

Four years later, these star-crossed Tar Heels are tying the knot in the same city where they took the first step—surrounded by friends and family from across the globe.

HIM

Daniel Breeden was born and raised in Charlotte, N.C., where his wonderful family (and their beloved canines) still reside. In grade school, Daniel’s relentless itch for sports inspired him to pursue a career in the NFL. Unfortunately, his dream didn’t pan out. So instead, he hung up his cleats and followed his older brother in pursuit of higher learning at the DKE house–er, business school–at UNC. Fast-forward a few years, and you can find him splitting time between his surfboard and multifamily real estate role at Greystar’s headquarters in Charleston, S.C.

HER

Caroline Roessler has conflicting roots between the Sonoran Desert and the Mississippi Delta. Like Daniel, Caroline spent most of her childhood on the football field–much to her father’s delight–who still refers to her as “the little boy he never had.” During her senior year of high school, Caroline applied to 12 schools and chose the farthest one away (hint: her papa’s Alma Mater). Today, you can find her chasing sunsets or booking flights she can’t afford–usually with a fork in hand.
